I don’t like “developing country”, because often it is not developing. So I usually use “Underdeveloped country”, which I believe is very accurate. While the ideal level of socioeconomic development can be debated, it is fairly noncontroversial that Ghana hasn’t reached it yet. Let alone the ideal level of human development, which I think no country has yet reached.

Sounds familiar. I bet you one Star that you don’t get to see anybody bar the watchman and the secretary. The lack of interest in tourism at that place is staggering. Good luck anyway. For what it’s worth, my contact there was a director called Mr Owusu-Mensah. If you tell him you are one of my close associates, then I am sure all doors will open for you. Anaa?

It would be nice to see them take control of that, I’ve been to another “Garden City” – Singapore – and when driving through from the airport it feels like a stroll through a forest. It doesn’t mean people don’t know about events happening in the city or the two main churches which are some of the largest in Asia. Rebranding will require more than planting trees, it will need collaborations with technology to inform people without billboards.

There’s a new show on Ghana TV. It seems like a lot of staions are picking it up. It’s called something like Maternal and Child Health Network. The show last Thursday was about child health and much of the reporting took place at the health facility at Salaga.
One of the health professionals said that there was an inordinant number of doctors in Accra. So the brain drain from Ghana is not only to overseas, it’s to Accra…Accra is a country. There’s a post on this blog titled ACCRA IS A COUNTRY.
