This is an invaluable resource and could possibly spare you from not only uncomfortable conditions, but harrowing situations such as the ordeal one Fiona Nash went through very recently. Here’s her post on the Briggs’ Guide to Ghana blog about an hour ago at 8:15 a.m., May 27, 2009:

“I recently stayed at Sammo Guesthouse, Cape Coast. I was sexually assaulted by a member of staff and as such would advise lone female travellers to be incredibly cautious or avoid the guesthouse completely. This experience was an anomaly in Ghana, i have happily travelled alone for 6 months and will continue to do so. However caution should be taken at this particular institution.

However I too like Fiona must qualify my response to this situation by saying Ghana IS most definitely a SAFE destination.Like anywhere in this world, sh.. happens….

Needless to say, Four Villages Inn immediately forwarded this post to the Executive Director of the Ghana Tourist Board, the Operations Director of the Ghana Tourist Board  and the incoming Regional Manager of the Ghana Tourist Board in the Central Region, where Cape Coast is located, for their immediate attention and action.
