OBAMA TO GO TO CAPE COAST CASTLE AND………

Sure, he’s going. …But now there are calls for him to go to Elmina Castle as well.  Rumour also has it  President Obama’s visit might be extended  so that he can visit the other thirteen or more castles or forts along the coast of Ghana. After all, what better marketing for Ghana’s saviour, TOURISM  as trumpeted by the Daily Graphic’s editorial board in an editorial entitled “Tourism can be our saviour”on June 25, 2009 .

Wonder if all the cannon balls from Aflao on the Togo border to Half Assini on the border with Ivory Coast  will be whitewashed.

An aside: It’s interesting the theme at the African Union meetings  being held in Libya at this moment  is “agriculture and how it might lead the continent to greater economic stablity.”

Well, at least Muammar al-Qathafi’s got that right even though he sure is doing one hell of a job promoting his own village of Sirte despite its being  a hot bumpy four hour drive from Tripoli and reached by air by only two chartered flights per day!
