FOUR VILLAGES INN-A PLACE WHERE GOOD THINGS HAPPEN

Two Irish men arrived at Four Villages Inn. They had done their homework on the internet and had decided to stay at Four Villages Inn for a couple of days to get their bearings here in Kumasi  before moving  to cheaper digs. You see Derek O’Keeffe and Brian Higgins  are interns scheduled to work at Komfuo Anoakye Teaching  Hospital (K.A.T.H.) for a couple of weeks.

Well, they liked FOUR VILLAGES INN so much that  there was no getting rid of them. They poured over the literature in their room and became very curious about the Maternal and Child Health Hospital that Four Villages Inn raises awareness and money for. After a phone call,  we went for a guided tour of the facility by the Director of the Hospital, Dr. Annie Opoku, a Malagasy, who has been in Ghana for 23 years, married to another Ghana doctor. It was quite a tour complete with a live birth!!!!

Upon leaving, Derek and Brain pledged US$1,600 to match a recent contribution from Chris’s Kumasi East Rotary Club towards the malnutrition program the hospital funds and implements. The money   from the interns comes from fund raising activities organized by their med. school to contribute to a worthwhile cause. Both Derek and Brian  felt that the teaching hospital was just too large and any contribution would just get absorbed by the system.  During their tour of The Maternal and Child Health Hospital, the fellows took pictures of equipment, supplies and furniture that needed changing and promised Dr. Annie there would be further follow-up.

YES, FOUR VILLAGES INN IS MUCH, MUCH  MORE THAN JUST A PLACE TO STAY!
