HAPPY NEW YEAR!

A new category-CHANGE = DEVELOPMENT- appears for the first time. Little and big things that MAKE A DIFFERENCE in Ghana. I’ll celebrate events here in the blog under this category as they happen . Hope they last-nothing prevents these events from being-the magic word-hold onto your hat-SUSTAINABLE.

Today the door bell rang at the gate. I went there looking for Roger our trusty security man/gardener. There’s a fellow there, but no Roger. I ask him what he wants and get the reply “BOLA” and he points to the big garbage truck on the road. He points to the back of the property and I put two and two together-Roger has gone to get the garbage bin! WOW!

Collection, once upon a time, was regular-twice a week-but not for years as costs rose and private service contractors collapsed. So for days on end, the bin would be sitting out on the road full to the brim. Now just maybe when the truck passes, the doorbell will go and the bin will be emptied,

MAD IN GHANA WOULD LOVE TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR SMALL AND LARGE CELEBRATIONS!
