Published in March, 2009, GHANA; Culture Smart: The Essential Guide to Customs and Culture is a wonderful book. I’ve only seen it once though. A guest had it. I contacted Ian Utley to suggest that he market the book at The Blue Knights shops in the Golden Tulip Hotels in Accra and Kumasi. Here’s his reply:

“It’s on the net and in the big bookstores overseas, but not, as far as I’m aware, available in Ghana yet. Both Silverbird and Legon have asked to sell the book, but only on a sale-or-return basis, which the publishers won’t do.
If anyone wants to make a great investment, the publishers offer 55% discount and free adverts on the cover for wholesale orders. Great opportunity for someone in the hotel business to get their advert to tourists, and get a load of cheap books for sale.”

I hope some young enterprising hotel proprietor sees this and makes inquiries. It’s a great opportunity to make some money and….market the hotel!!!

Here’s the publishers’ blurb on the book
