HIGHLIFE AT FOUR VILLAGES INN, KUMASI

FOUR VILLAGES INN is small. In fact there is none smaller. 4 is the minimum number of rooms required by the Ghana Tourist Board to acquire a license.

The name of the game is guests staying for multiple nights-the more nights the more profit-and needless to say, we’d like to think, the richer the experience guests will have of Kumasi Ghana in general. One night stays are the pits for us and we believe for our guests well as Kumasi and surrounds has so much to offer. After ten years in the business, we at Four Villages have things in place so guests have a great time and more…as Deborah and Matthieu discovered.

Deborah and Matthieu arrived for a two night stay. They requested Comfort our guide of market tour fame the next morning. Matthieu did mention that he collected old highlife music on vinyl and wondered if he could find some in the market. Comfort smiled and said I know just the place to take you in the market of over 10,000 stalls in an area of 12 hectares. Off they went. And when they got back, I asked how the tour was. “AMAZING” and there is no better word. Then Matthieu proudly posed with his treasures!

But, it was our treasures too-probably didn’t word that right- they wanted to go back again to the market and they wanted Comfort again and THEY WANTED TO STAY A THIRD NIGHT!
So Comfort came again the next morning and here’s they are before setting out the SECOND time.

BEFORE SETTING OUT A SECOND TIME!

And here they are back at the record shop

And a little append um for my hotelier/tourist industry readers: That night we had lights off the whole night through-we ran the generator from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 a.m. the next morning when the last guests left for the day. Instead of having one room, we had two because Matthieu and Deborah had extended their stay ….
