1.MISSIONARY STYLE…

Missionary from America’s Heartland:
All those socks and ties you sent to us were very much appreciated! We packaged them up with 3 pair of socks and 2 ties in each bag and sent 60 packages to the ———- students at _______________. Dozens of other packages went to pastors throughout the country. Here is a note from one of the students:

Dear Beloved Ones in Jesus Christ,

I am very much grateful to you, though our Savior Jesus Christ, for the love and care which you showed me and my fellow students here at ____________. We received presents from you, and I was very happy for the great concern you have to uplift the ministry of God. Even my congregation whom I serve has already received word of this blessing to us, and they are praying for you and your families at large. May the Almighty God bless you abundantly as you continue serving the Lord. (Read Romans 8:14-17.)

Yours in the Lord,

missionary again:
Your gifts have been a real encouragement to these students, as well as the pastors in ________________. The socks for women and children were given to the ______________ for themselves and for orphans.

2. THE POWER OF HALF:

A couple in America is getting a lot of press for their contributing half their accumulated wealth to a village in, you guessed it, GHANA

THE POWER OF HALF is now a movement. You can visit the website and become a fan on facebook.

You won’t read much about the Ghanaian village though….

You want madinghana’s take on this…while you can’t doubt the meaningfulness of this movement, it’s about as ridiculous as the missionary giving described above …..

Here in Africa -it’s the POWER OF 70%-THAT’S ABOUT HOW MUCH IS RIPPED OFF FROM THESE WINDFALLS
