Just got the above titled article from Lonely Planet. The only country on the African continent cited was Sudan! Can ya believe it? Anyways, you can read the entry on Sudan below….but before that consider GHANA!

MADINGHANA just has one good piece of advice if you want to do Ghana “on the cheap”…get out of the capital a.s.a.p. Like Sudan, Ghana takes great pride in welcoming guests and there are amazing things to be seen around the country. Unlike Sudan, Ghana is easy to get to, get into to, and wrap your head around.

a MUST for planning your trip to Ghana

Now here’s what they say about Sudan….

Sudan

It’s hard to get to, hard to get into and hard to wrap your head around. Sudan is in the news for all the wrong reasons – what people should know about is the locals’ pride in welcoming guests and the amazing things that can be seen around the country. In the north you’ll be treated to pyramids and other marvels of the ancient world, and odds are you’ll have them to yourself. And a falafel will cost less than US$1 and a bed for the night will be less than US$10.

Hey, you being the only tourist in that country, you’ll get to shake the hand of President Al Bashir himself!
