If you haven’t already subscribed to author of THE BRADT GUIDE TO GHANA Philip Briggs’ blog at http://philipbriggs.wordpress.com, do so…It’s chalk full of updates that are sure to be helpful in planning your trip or excursion.

The most recent wonderfully positive post is about three of Kumasi’s craft villages. Four Villages Inn is always plugging two of the three-Adanwomase and Ntonsu. An aside: Stay clear of Bonwire, the most noted kente village and Ahwiaa, the woodcarving village on the Mampong Road. Both can be described in one word- HASSLE….

And the third, Abompe, the bead village, is a complete surprise! Rest assured madinghana and Comfort, Four Villages Inn’s famous tour guide, will be there soon exploring!

And, while we are on the subject of craft villages, don’t forget the brass village Krokrofrom located according to the Bradt guide “four kilometres past Four Villages Inn”. Guests of Four Villages Inn can enjoy a free excursion to this village that receives few visitors. It’s our way of supporting the hard working brass-smiths who use the labour intensive lost wax process in creating their imaginative works of art out of brass.

Here follows the update on the three villages:

Incidentally, as you will note in the comment, MADINGHANA will be in touch with his friends at the Ghana Tourist Board to go to Ntonsu to advise the people at the visitors’ centre to put the beautiful old adinkra clothe under glass.
