I have a Facebook friend in the States who works for an organization that promotes mental health…anyways he travels on the job and staff make the bookings for him.
Here’s what he wrote on his Facebook page: “If I just booked my travel myself, it would be ……..
You finish the sentence….
Just had a guest..her organization made her booking in Accra…at the LaPalme-the 4* hotel part of the Golden Beach Hotel chain here in Ghana. She stayed there before coming to Four Villages-she made her own booking here having consulted THE LONELY PLANET where our review starts, “The Canadian owners have pulled out all the stops at this totally charming guest house”.
Here’s what she wrote in our guest book: “This was a lovely break for me even while on work. Loved the room and information and off to see the market with Comfort!”
Well, she’s now back in Accra-but not staying at LaPalme….The story goes-she had dry cleaning which she said she didn’t need to the afternoon of the following day. Well that night at 10:45 p.m. an employee phoned her room to say that he would be delivering the dry cleaning at 6:00 a.m.!
Ya, lots of employees have their own agenda-all too often in conflict with ethical customer care and service….
She’s now staying at ESTHER’S HOTEL (www.esthers-hotel.com) at about US$135-much less expensive than LaPalme. She made the booking herself again using the Lonely Planet for West Africa.
So, hit that comments button to complete the sentence…If I just booked my travel myself, it would be …..
To conclude: JUST DO IT! MAKE THOSE BOOKINGS YOURSELF! AND…. REPORT-MAKE YOUR COMPLAINTS KNOWN
