Planning your West Africa Trip

Posted on July 4, 2012

This is the suggestion of The WEST AFRICA guide of THE LONELY PLANET:

“Keen to experience the best of West Africa but not sure where to start? Take a slow boat to Timbuktu, camp under the Sahara’s starry skies, hike through ancient Dogon Country, discover cosmopolitan Abidjan and kick-back on Ghana’s palm-fringed beaches.”

Sad, isn’t it in Mali? There goes not only their freedom and their security, but also their tourism industry.

So, cut the first part off the suggested itinerary, and after the Ghana’s palm-fringed beaches, add on a visit to Kumasi in Ghana’s Ashanti region and stay at
FOUR VILLAGES INN, #1 Guest House on the TRIP ADVISOR site and recent recipient of THE CERTIFICATE OF EXCELLENCE.

The next issue of The Lonely Planet West Africa comes out in September, 2013. Let’s hope and pray by then that Mali is stable and safe.
