I had heard about the big thunderstorm on Saturday night in Accra…but Sunday morning I read on my Facebook news feed:

Watching de flooded arrival hall of Kotoka airport on tv makes me weep for Gh. When will we better manage our own affairs?

Then there were these three comments:

Yes, on Saturday night a big storm struck Accra causing flooding at the international airport. And then a transformer was apparently struck by lightening throwing the entire capital city in darkness.

Can’t you just see the politicians rolling their eyes and saying, “And they want us to promote tourism when infrastructure in Ghana is so weak and vulnerable. Gawd, to get Ghana up to scratch would cost billions…”

anything to add on this? any other theories? my no. 2 coming soon…..
